Audi's A1 is the smallest car in the Audi range, a premium competitor for the VW Polo and MINI ranges. Although a compact hatchback, it can accommodate five passengers and is available in three models: Attraction, Ambition and Sport.
Power comes from a choice of three engines, a zesty 1.2-litre petrol turbo, a 1.4-litre petrol turbo and a modern, and very frugal, 1.6-litre diesel. There are two transmissions available, a five-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic automatic.
It also comes standard with driver and passenger airbags, head and side airbags, traction control, electronic brake distribution, brake assist as well as cruise control and eight-speaker stereo. Up-spec models come with a premium feature list.
Wheel sizes are 15-inch, 16-inch or 17-inch alloys, depending upon the model.
Talk of a topless version of Audi's A1 light car has been doing the rounds since its debut in 2009.
