Mitsubishi's Triton is among the smoothest and quietest utes in the segment. Available as a cab chassis, single cab ute or double cab, the latter can comfortably accommodate a family of five in a well-built, car-like interior. The Triton comes as a very capable 4x4, a hard-working 4x2, and offers a three model range: GLX, GLS and Exceed.
It offers a choice of two engines, a 2.4-litre petrol and 2.4-litre diesel turbo. There are three transmissions available, a five-speed manual, six-speed manual or five-speed sports automatic.
Key features include driver and passenger airbags, head and side airbags, traction control, trailer sway control, electronic brake distribution, hands-free Bluetooth as well as cruise control and 7-inch touch screen. Up-spec models come with a premium features list including a standard reversing camera on GLS and Exceed models.
Wheel sizes are 16-inch steel or 17-inch alloys, depending upon the model. The double cab 4X4 models feature a 3.1 tonne towing capacity (braked trailer).
Mitsubishi has released new images of its GR-HEV light commercial hybrid concept, scheduled to debut at this week's Geneva Motor Show.
