The Ford Ranger, developed at Ford Australia's design and engineering facility at Campbellfield, is a light commercial vehicle, available in cab chassis, single cab and double cab configurations. Large externally, and spacious inside, the Ranger offers unparalleled on-road performance as well as near-unstoppable off-road capability.
It comes in a variety of different models - XL, XL Plus, XL Hi-Rider, XLS, XLT and Wildtrak - as well as 4X2 and 4X4 configurations.
A choice of two powerful engines is available, 2.2-litre diesel turbo and a five-cylinder 3.2-litre diesel turbo. There are also two transmissions to choose from, a six-speed manual or six-speed sports automatic.
Standard features include driver and passenger airbags, head and side airbags, traction control, trailer sway control, hands-free Bluetooth as well as cruise control and four or six-speaker stereo. The up-specced Wildtrak model comes with leather-faced seats and a premium features list.
The Ranger has a 3.5 tonne braked tow rating (750kg unbraked).
