HSV ClubSport R8
HSV has tweaked its entry-level V8 to give it enhanced cruise control and stability control systems.
Holden Special Vehicles are all about standing out from the crowd.
It's a formula that has propelled the brand to cult status among diehard V8 fans and generated the type of loyalty normally reserved for a footy team.
When you've discovered a winning formula, you'd be a fool to mess with it and for the most part HSV hasn't with the latest iteration of its ClubSport R8 sedan. It's loud and proud as ever.
One major change is the controversial front end of the E-Series 2 range to which the ClubSport belongs.
The in-your-face styling is most confronting in the top-of-the-range HSV, the GTS.
In the white ClubSport we drove, it looks less fussy but it's still an acquired taste, with a massive rear wing, a flared-nostril grille, twin bonnet scoops and racecar-inspired side air vents giving owners the differentiation they crave.
