2021 MG HS range review: Data tables
All the data points you need to compare the five MG HS variants side-by-side
Data. Data. Data. Readers and viewers have been asking for it, so here you go!
This is part of a series of data-driven comparison pieces that simply provide information between multiple models, as well as our CarAdvice 'perfect spec' pick of the range.
2021 MG HS range data tables
The MG HS medium SUV had a pretty solid year in 2020, its first full 12-month period on sale. At 2600 units, the HS outsold the Renault Koleos (2408) and Ford Escape (1971), but still has a way to go to combat cars like the Kia Sportage (9579) and Mazda CX-5 (21,979).
That said, keen pricing and an expanding lineup should set up the HS range for further growth in 2021, but with five variants now available, which one is right for you?
What follows are all the details on each of the MG HS variants (including those we recently covered in our Range Review Video), neatly laid out for you to compare side by side. We’ve added the new entry-level Core variant and special edition Anfield version to the data too.

Other equipment
Right, well this is where it gets more interesting. We've split out some of the more important items and noted on which variants they are included. It's worth noting that the only option available on the HS range is paint colour, so if a variant doesn't have the feature you are after, you will need to go up a grade.
For some basic inclusions across all models, you'll find power windows and mirrors, rear parking sensors, remote central locking and push-button start on every MG HS variant.
The 10.1-inch LCD touch-screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard in all cars too.

The CarAdvice pick
While heated seats and a big sunroof are always attractive, it's hard to go past the well-rounded value of the mid-grade MG HS Excite as our pick. The step up from the Vibe adds the power tailgate, LED headlamps and dual-zone climate functions that feel well-worth the $3000 price premium. We'd spend the extra $700 on Surfing Blue paint too.
