2015 Skoda Yeti Active 7 Tsi (4×2) Review
Having driven more performance based VW Golf GTi's over the last 10 years, I was a little hesitant to drop from my recent Golf GTi Pirelli with 169KW of power to the more sedate 77KW Skoda Yeti but I am truly astounded at how well the new Skoda Yeti 1.2Ltr Turbo petrol engine performs.
- Performs well for a small SUV with a small engine, Comfortable with plenty of driver foot space, Clever seating and storage options
- Dull colours only available
It certainly won't move like the GTi but I seem to have all the comforts and familiarity of the VW Golf in my new Skoda. If you are considering the Skoda Yeti as an affordable small SUV, I highly recommend you take one for a test drive as they will surprise you with the nippy and smooth gear changes of the DSG version.
Skoda had a bad reputation going back many years for always breaking down and I remember jokes like - why do Skoda's have rear window heaters - answer was - to keep your hands warm while you are pushing. This is not so any longer. The Yeti is a really fun vehicle today.
If you are considering a purchase of the Skoda Yeti, I would also suggest that you add on the Technology Pack - the best $2600 ever spent. You get GPS a souped up sound system, front and rear parking sensors and Park assist. I have had my Skoda Yeti for just a few days and it is already my favourite car as it is just so easy to drive, comfortable, roomy and performs really well.
The Skoda Yeti is the small SUV with heart.
