Video – Fiat 600 electric SUV revealed in promotional video

Italian car-maker Fiat reveals its new electric vehicle – a larger sibling to the 500 hatch.

Italian car-maker Fiat has unveiled the larger sibling of the Fiat 500e electric hatch, the Fiat 600.

In a video posted on the company's official YouTube channel, the electric Fiat 600 is shown driving the streets of Rome. The electric SUV is set to arrive in 2024, and is positioned as a counterpart to the new electric Fiat 500e hatch.

The Fiat 600 is slated to replace both the 500X SUV and the 500L as a single electric model with future hybrid petrol variants. The video showcases a compact five-door SUV, reminiscent in size and shape to the old 500X.

With the end of life approaching for the petrol-powered 500X, the Fiat 600 SUV aims to capture an evolving market that trends towards larger cars and the predominant use of electric power with petrol hybrids also available.

While borrowing the front-end design from the latest Fiat 500, the new Fiat 600 boasts a stretched wheelbase, allowing for a larger battery and extended range. It may utilise the same 54kWh electric system found in the Jeep Avenger, although the Fiat 600 will ride on a unique platform. For reference, the Jeep Avenger is claimed to have up to 400km driving range on a single charge.
