Tinder-style app for electric cars

Mercedes launches match-making service for its greenest cars

Mercedes-Benz has developed a match-maker app for its range of hybrid vehicles and upcoming electric cars.

To help gently nudge car-owners in a more environmentally-friendly direction, Mercedes-Benz has launched an app to help motorists see the benefits of switching to an electric or hybrid vehicle.

The EQ Ready app records and saves data from a user's regular travel profile, no matter what sort of car they drive, capturing things like speed, time spent on the road, and braking distance — along with other information.

It then suggests which alternatively-powered Mercedes-Benz model is best suited for that user, helping them decide what kind of vehicle is most suitable for their needs.

It also allows users to find and save public and personal charging possibilities nearby to simulate the charging process of your electric vehicle, should you decide to purchase one.

The app comes just as Mercedes prepare to launch its first fully-electrified vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz EQ C, which will be unveiled on September 4 in Sweden.
