Audi's upcoming 2012 A3 has been spied in testing again, and this time we've got the first uncamouflaged images of the hatch's interior.
As expected, the ready-to-go design of the dash in March's A3 Sedan Concept will carry over virtually unchanged into the final production car.
Among the few standout differences are the different colour scheme, the black dash switches replacing the concept's silver units, and the simplified air-conditioning controls below.
A six-speed manual shifter replaces the button and dial automatic transmission of the sedan concept. The interior door panels are also largely identical to their concept counterparts, differing only in colour and stitching.
These new photos also suggest that if the interior is a virtual carbon copy of the concept's cabin, we can likely expect the external styling to come very close to the concept's design.
Don't expect to find the concept's 300kW and 500Nm 2.5 litre five-cylinder engine in the production version however. Even when the inevitable RS 3 arrives, a high-powered four-cylinder engine is the more likely candidate.
The all-new A3 is expected to make its international production debut in the second half of 2012. This sedan concept shows that a notchback is likely to figure among the growing number of models under the A3 badge.
