A wagon version of Porsche's Panamera super-saloon may be moving closer to reality, with reports that a new concept will appear in Paris next month.
According to website Autoweek, the wagon will also offer a preview of the next-generation Panamera, bringing a cure for the current car's polarising looks. (Although a facelift is also in testing right now.)
“It is one proposal we are looking at to increase the reach of the Panamera,” a source told Autoweek. “From the feedback we're receiving right now, there appears to be sales potential for such a car in certain markets, especially Europe.”
If a Panamera wagon is indeed in the works, it will join the existing Cayenne SUV and the upcoming Macan as the third luggage-hauling model in the Porsche line-up.
Like the Jaguar XF Sportbrake wagon, the Panamera wagon will undoubtedly feature a tapered roofline, combining practicality with the necessary sporting profile.
With the next Panamera still some years away however, a wagonised version is unlikely to appear before 2016.
