The price of Peugeot’s 208 light hatch and 2008 small SUV have come in for revision under the French brand’s new Australian importer in an attempt to kickstart flagging sales.
Price cuts of between three and five percent have been applied to non-performance variants of the 208 hatch and 2008 SUV to counter a sales slide that has seen Peugeot sell just 197 208 hatches for the first half of 2017, a 57.7 percent decline compared to 2016.
The new pricing structure sees the entry-level 208 Active model, powered by an 81kW 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and matched to a six-speed automatic, start from $22,190 before on-road costs, a reduction of $300.
