Jaguar's upcoming XFR-S monster will debut at this month's LA Auto Show, according to reports out of Europe.
Entering as a new performance flagship above the existing XFR, the new variant could also be the six year-old XF's swan song.
It should be quite the song, however: while the XFR features a big 375kW 5.0 litre super V8, the XFR-S is likely to get the XKR-S Coupe's 405kW version.
Heavier than the coupe, the XFR-S' 0-100km/h sprint will likely come in at around 4.6 to 4.7 seconds - up from 4.4 for the coupe, but sharper than the XFR's 4.9 seconds. Tight margins, to be sure.
As with the supercoupe, the XFR-S should debut with its own unique bodykit, adding new aero elements and a handful of tough-mudder styling tweaks.
For now, the test car spied by TMR wears the existing XFR kit, although we can see the XKR-S coupe's wheels, along with a larger lip spoiler at the back.
Watch for details on the new XFR-S to surface in the lead-up to the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, where it is expected to make its world premiere.
