Isuzu Ute Australia adds new D-MAX, MU-X 4×2 models: Ute range expands to 25 variants
The 2015 Isuzu D-Max range has grown with a pair of new 4x2 models this month, boosting the number of variants in the range to 25, while the off-roading 2015 Isuzu MU-X SUV has likewise gained a new 4x2 option.
Two of the three models launch with limited-time drive-away pricing, including the 4X2 SX Space Cab Ute at $31,990 drive-away (RRP $34,300) and the MU-X 4x2 LS-T at $43,990 drive-away (RRP $46,700). The trio is rounded out with the D-Max 4x2 SX Crew Cab Chassis at $36,100 plus on-road costs.
Isuzu says the addition is aimed at capitalising on the brand’s fast-improving market position, which we detailed in June.
To the end of September, the brand - with only the D-Max and MU-X ranges to play with - is up 31.2 percent over the same period in 2014.
The D-Max 4x2 models in particular have seen huge success in 2015, with 2382 year-to-date registrations marking a 117.1 percent increase over the same time last year.
The MU-X range, which competes with the likes of the related Holden Colorado 7, the new Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest, and the incoming Challenger-replacing Pajero Sport, is also up 46.4 percent year-to-date.
The new models added this month include the D-Max 4x2 SX Space Cab Ute and 4x2 SX Crew Cab Chassis, and the seven-seat MU-X 4x2 LS-T.
All three new variants are powered by Isuzu Ute’s 130kW/380Nm 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, matched to a five-speed automatic transmission.
