Inside the Genesis X Speedium Coupe concept

Months after the X Speedium Coupe exterior was unveiled, Genesis has now shown inside the sleek electric coupe.

The cabin of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe has been revealed, providing a glimpse of the brand’s interior design direction.

Genesis first showed off the X Speedium Coupe in April 2022 – previewing the futuristic art deco styling of its forthcoming electric models – however, this is the first time the inside of the concept has been seen.

The asymmetric driver-centric cabin has been finished in contrasting dark green and tan leather upholstery, contrast seat belts, and a floating centre console with an angle infotainment touchscreen, while ahead of the driver is a curved OLED display.

The car’s sound system has been given special attention, with three-way component speakers and a subwoofer designed by Guk-il Yu from premium speaker manufacturer Metal Sound Design.

In the cargo area, X-shaped straps have been placed to help secure loads, as well as being a nod to the company’s Mint Concept of 2019.

“The X Speedium Coupe was conceived as an internal design exercise that we later decided to reveal publicly. It was nothing more than a hard model built on our Athletic Elegance design identity,” the brand’s Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke said at the interior’s unveiling at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in the US.

“Given the positive reception it received at the [car’s unveiling in April], we chose to complete the concept and present it to discerning attendees at the Pebble Beach Concours,” he said.

“The interior captures the Genesis brand’s ‘Beauty of White Space’ design ethos, which suits various luxury lifestyles and adds to the appeal of the dynamic GT.”
