Hyundai i40 sedan coming soon
With the slightly bigger Hyundai i45 only offered with a 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol, the i40 sedan will step in to fill the diesel gap. Only one engine choice will be available, the 1.7-litre turbo diesel.
With 100kW of power and 330Nm of torque, the 1.7 turbo diesel, which is also available in the i40 wagon, will help Hyundai gain marketshare in a the medium-sedan diesel segment, currently dominated by Europeans like the Ford Mondeo.
Pricing and specification leves are currently unconfirmed, but based on the prices for the i40 wagon, we estimate the sedan will start from around $33,000 for the manual Active base model and top out around $45,000 for the Premium six-speed automatic.
