Hyundai i30 N hatch orders to reopen in Australia, will live on with next year’s facelift
Order books are poised to reopen for the Hyundai i30 N hot hatch after being paused earlier this year.
The Hyundai i30 N hot hatch is about to be available to order again in Australia – five months after the company told dealers to stop accepting deposits until the customer backlog was cleared.
Hyundai Australia stopped taking orders for the in-demand hot hatch in February 2023.
The Hyundai i30 Sedan N has remained on sale – and available to order – uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, the customer order intake was paused for the smaller sibling, the Hyundai i20 N, in August 2022 and the car remained unavailable locally as this article was published.
A Hyundai Australia representative told Drive orders for the Hyundai i30 N are about to be re-opened any day now.
However, when Drive canvassed a number of Hyundai dealers, they said they were yet to be informed of the change.
While order books are expected to open for the Hyundai i30 N hatchback shortly, the model is also set to be given a stay of execution and will remain on sale locally for the next few years.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the regular Hyundai i30 hatch range will remain in Australian showrooms for the foreseeable future, even though there was a cloud over its prospects amid the shift away from hatchbacks and to SUVs.
Despite speculation it would be phased out at the end of this year, Hyundai is poised to introduce a second facelift by the middle of 2024 (above).
This follows the launch of this generation of Hyundai i30 in 2017 and an update in 2020.
The 2024 refresh is expected to see the Hyundai i30 hatchback out to at least 2027.
