2020 Ford Escape teased ahead of April 3 debut
New crossover will have rounder styling, and could feature plug-in hybrid drivetrain and seven-seat options.
The next-generation Ford Escape has been teased in a series of videos, shared on social media, ahead of its launch on April 2, European time.
In the teaser videos we catch glimpses of the new crossover's grille, headlights, tail-lights, and number plate garnish, which now includes the car's name written out in large letters.
Earlier spy photos have revealed the next-generation Escape will have a rounder, more organic styling language. In addition to sharing a platform with the latest Focus, the two cars will also share many design elements.
Reports indicate the new Escape will be available with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain and, possibly, a seven-seat variant. The majority of models are expected to be powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
Ford promises the new Escape will have "unrivalled flexibility and smart new technology". The new Escape will once again be sold as the Kuga in Europe and the UK.
Earlier this week Ford revealed it will add a 48V mild-hybrid drivetrain with a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine to its European Fiesta and Focus ranges. Such a setup is a possibility for European Kuga models.
