Toyota is starting from scratch in the hot-selling compact SUV segment, so there’s a lot riding on the all-new C-HR which has been confirmed for local launch next February.
Featuring edgy styling and an 85kW/185Nm turbocharged 1.2-litre engine, the all-new C-HR is being sourced from Japan and while Toyota hasn’t confirmed local pricing, a sub-$25,000 starting sticker is needed to take-on the likes of Nissan Qashqai and Mazda CX-3.
Underneath is Toyota’s configurable GA-C global chassis architecture which allows the powerplant to sit low and with a rearwards angle – facilitating the hip low bonnet line.
C-HR will hit Toyota dealerships in either front-drive or all-wheel-drive.
