BMW 4-Series GranCoupe revealed
German brand’s stylish four-door sedan caught testing ahead of 2014 launch.
BMW’s rival to the strong-selling Audi A5 Sportback and the Volkswagen CC has been caught testing mostly undisguised.
The sleek styled 4-Series GranCoupe is based on the regular 4-Series Coupe, but receives two more doors, a slightly longer wheelbase and a set of usable rear seats.

Its exterior design will follow the same route as the 6-Series GranCoupe differs from the 5-Series sedan. It has similar similar proportions to the 3-Series, but with a lower roofline, frameless doors, gaping air intakes and smooth aluminium style inserts for a more upmarket feel.
Under the bonnet BMW will place the same engines found in the 4-Series Coupe: two petrol and two diesel, headed by the range topping 435i with 225kW of power.
BMW will also be offering an M4 GranCoupe model that will be powered by a 335kW/550Nm six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, propelling it to 100km/h from rest in about 4.2 seconds.
The GranCoupe is due to be launched in Australia in late 2014, about the same time as the M4, while the regular 4-series Coupe and Cabriolet will hit showrooms in the coming weeks.
