Alfa Romeo to resume US sales by mid-2012
Alfa Romeo will soon resume selling cars in the US following nearly two decades without representation.
Owner Fiat plans to return the sporty Italian brand to the US market by 2012 with CEO Sergio Machionne telling Autonews that:
"I’m a lot more confident now that Alfa Romeo will reconstitute a product offering that is acceptable globally, and more in particular in the United States and Canada,
"There is a strong likelihood that the brand will be back here within the next 24 months."
It's believed Alfa Romeo's 159-replacing Giulia sedan and wagon models will be first to hit US shores, hopefully by mid-2012.
An Alfa Romeo model based on Chrysler's next-generation 300 (the replacement to the 300C) is then expected to follow sometime in 2013.
