Alfa Romeo 4C brochure specs leaked
A full list of details and specifications about the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C has leaked online.
Based on images first published by AutoEdizione claiming to be out of a leaked German-market brochure for the Alfa Romeo 4C, the specs confirm the sports car's 895kg dry weight, 180kW/350Nm turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
If all the data proves correct, the 3989mm-long, 1864mm-wide and 1183mm-tall 4C will be 6mm shorter, 144mm wider and 72mm lower than a current-generation Mazda MX-5 when it reaches local shores in early 2014. Additionally, the Italian's 2380mm wheelbase is 50mm longer than the MX-5's.
Its weight would also come in 274kg below that of the already lightweight Japanese roadster's 1169kg.
The brochure-based report quotes claims of 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds, a top speed of 258km/h and a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 6.8 litres per 100km. The two-seater is also suggested to have a 110-litre boot capacity – 40L shy of an MX-5.
The brochure reveals six exterior colours, four different seat styles and four wheel designs will give customers ample opportunity to personalise their sports cars. Four colours for the car's four-piston front brake calipers add further choice, with 305mm ventilated front discs and 292mm rear items standard.
For customisation-focused buyers, there also appears to be options for the exhaust, wing mirrors, rear spoiler and headlight surround as well as a "Sport" kit that includes racy black decals.
Already being produced in Maserati’s plant in Modena, Italy, the mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive 4C is being targeted by Fiat Chrysler Australia for a sub-$80,000 price tag.
The Alfa Romeo 4C coupe is expected to be joined by a ‘Spider’ version in 2015, based on an entirely new platform that it will share with the next-generation Mazda MX-5 following an agreement between the two marques signed in January.
