2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan N facelift revealed, due in Australia this year

The facelifted 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan N performance car has been revealed, ahead of an Australian arrival due at the end of this year.

In line with the standard i30 Sedan range – due in local Hyundai showrooms in August or September 2023 – the updates to the N version appear to be cosmetic only.

There is a new front end with a mix of matte black, red and body-coloured finishes, and the slimmer projector LED headlights seen on the standard i30 Sedan.

At the rear, there's a new lower bumper with more gloss black trim and a wider red accent along its bottom edge – while the badges are now black, and there's a new set of telephone dial-style 19-inch alloy wheels.

One photo of the updated i30 Sedan N shows it with the black 19-inch forged alloys standard on the i30 N hot hatch in Australia, and optional on the Kona N SUV overseas. It is unclear if these will be available in Australia.

Visible on the lower front bumper is a radar sensor, which suggests the addition of adaptive cruise control, and a more advanced autonomous emergency braking system that can brake for cyclists, and oncoming traffic in intersections.

Today's i30 Sedan N is limited to manual, non-radar-guided cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking with car and pedestrian detection.

There also appear to be cameras on the bottom of the side mirrors for a 360-degree camera, however the resolution of the initial photos published by Hyundai head office means they are hard to make out.

It is unclear if there have been any changes to the interior.

There has no mention of any mechanical changes, which indicates the current car's 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 206kW/392Nm in normal driving, rising to 213kW in 'N Grin Shift' mode.

Australia is offered a choice of six-speed manual and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions, with front-wheel drive, adaptive suspension and a limited-slip front differential.

The 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan N facelift is due in Australia from the end of this year.
