2024 Ford Ranger price and specs: More equipment added, line-up cut

Ford has slimmed down the list of Rangers for Australia, while providing upgrades to most of the ute’s variants at no extra cost.

  • '2024.5' Ford Ranger pricing and specifications
  • Trailer backup assist standard for Wildtrak, Platinum and Raptor
  • Tech and towing packs now standard on XLS
  • Priced from $36,880 before on-road costs

The 2024 Ford Ranger is due to undergo a number of small tweaks this year, with Australia’s best-selling new vehicle gaining more equipment – either as standard or as a cost option – across most grades.

For 'Model Year 2024.5' Ranger models – which are due to be produced in Thailand from March this year – Ford has made changes to all variants, though at the cost of some low-demand grades leaving the line-up.

Headlining the upgrades to the Ford Ranger is a new ‘Pro Trailer Backup Assist’ system, aiding drivers while reversing a trailer or caravan attached to their utes.

The system will be standard on the Ranger’s Wildtrak, Platinum and Raptor grades, while becoming available for the XLT and Sport double-cab variants as a part of the $1650 Touring Pack.

The Ford Ranger Sport and Wildtrak can also now be ordered with a 'flexible rack system' for an additional $2800, with the adjustable accessory remaining as standard equipment for the Platinum.

All entry-level Ranger XLs will be equipped with ‘heavy-duty’ suspension – previously a $500 option – gaining thicker rear leaf springs and new front and rear dampers to match following customer feedback about its load-carrying capabilities.

The final upgrade to the 2024 Ford Ranger will come for the XLS, which now receives the optional Tech and Towing Packs as standard – adding a towbar and tongue, integrated trailer brake controller, extended blind-spot monitoring, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, rear seat vents and built-in satellite navigation.

This new standard equipment has resulted in a $1950 price increase for the Ranger XLS double-cab 4x4, now priced from $57,380 plus on-road costs.

No other Ford Ranger grades have incurred price changes.

In addition to the new equipment, Ford will cut four Ranger variants for MY24.5.

This includes the Ranger XL double-cab cab-chassis 4x2 and super-cab pick-up 4x4 bi-turbo variants, the XLS double-cab pick-up 4x2 bi-turbo and the Wildtrak X – the latter of which only arrived in Australia in mid-2023

The 2024 Ford Ranger is due in Australian showrooms following production starting in March.
