Japanese luxury car-maker Lexus has unveiled the updated LC coupe and convertible for Australia, with price rises between $4700 and $19,700 across the flagship model’s range.
The latest update for the LC comes less than two years after Lexus gave its two-door model its most recent refresh, with the changes headlined by a small number of equipment and mechanical tweaks.
Prices of the V8-powered Lexus LC500 coupe and LC500 convertible have risen by $4704 – now priced from $204,635 and $218,242 plus on-road costs, respectively – while the hybrid V6-powered LC500h coupe is now $19,704 dearer, starting from $212,727 plus on-road costs.
The LC500h’s additional $15,000 premium on top of the non-hybrid variant’s price rise has been attributed to Lexus now fitting it with equipment from the previously-optional Enhancement Pack as standard – though the package remains as a $15,000 extra for the LC500 coupe.
The 2023 Lexus LC is equipped with a new-generation 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (up from 10.3 inches), a revised 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, and a three-year subscription to Lexus Connected Services – allowing owners to check their odometer reading, fuel level and open or close windows and doors via a smartphone app.
The feature also allows owners to remotely start their car, while there is also cloud-based navigation services which includes an automatic collision notification, emergency call and stolen vehicle tracking.
A number of advanced driver assistance systems have been added to Lexus’ flagship model, such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) junction assist, cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, emergency steering assist, “curve speed reduction”, rear cross-traffic alert and a 360-degree camera.
According to Lexus, the LC500 is now fitted with more compliant engine mounts, while its 5.0-litre V8 continues to produce 351kW and 540Nm, delivered to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Lexus LC500h’s 220kW/348Nm 3.5-litre V6 engine and 132kW/300Nm hybrid system is also unchanged, developing up to 264kW combined which is sent to the rear wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
With the Lexus Enhancement Pack now standard on the LC500h, the hybrid luxury coupe is now equipped with a Torsen limited-slip differential, ‘high-grade’ brake discs, dynamic rear steering, variable gear ratio steering, an active rear spoiler, carbon-fibre roof, 10-way power adjustable front seats carbon-fibre scuff plates.
These Enhancement Pack features can be optioned onto the V8-powered LC500 coupe for an additional $15,000.
