2023 Hyundai Kona N Line spied
With the future of the high-performance Kona N in doubt, the new-generation Kona N Line may become the sportiest version of Hyundai's small SUV.
Just days after the 2023 Hyundai Kona was revealed, photos have emerged online showing the next N Line variant in the wild.
What appears to be a pre-production version of the Kona N Line was discovered by Korean YouTube channel Woopa TV in a car park, with the silver Hyundai fitted with a white body-kit and sporty 19-inch alloy wheels.
The N Line is expected to be the most powerful version of the SUV when it arrives, as the high-performance Kona N is not expected to be renewed for the new generation.
While engines have yet to be confirmed, it's believed the Hyundai Kona N Line will be powered by a version of the 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder found in the current Kona N Line, sending 146kW and 265Nm to all four wheels.
Kona buyers are likely to also have the option of a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder engine in lower grades, as well as both hybrid and electric versions – the former choice slated to be new to the Australian market.
Red piping throughout the interior helps denote the Kona N Line as the sporty version, while one 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver, while another 12.3-inch screen in the centre of the dash looks after infotainment duties.
The 2023 Hyundai Kona is due to arrive into Australian showrooms from mid 2023.
