2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale recalled in Australia

The motor fault could cause a person's limb to be stuck in the sunroof, according to the recall notice.

Alfa Romeo has recalled 202 examples of its 2023 Tonale model, citing a potential fault with the sunroof motor which could lead to an occupant's limb getting stuck.

The affected vehicles are stamped all 2023 models, though may have been sold later.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to software settings, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part between the frame and glass when the sunroof is closing, it may not reverse until significant pressure is reached.

"If the sunroof does not operate as intended, it can increase the risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants."
