2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross price and specs
The facelifted 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has been launched for Australia with official specifications and pricing.
- Body lengthened by 140mm for increased legroom and boot space.
- New 8.0-inch touchscreen and infotainment system.
- 5-star ANCAP safety rating retained.
- Priced from $30,290 plus on-road costs at the entry level.
The medium-size SUV has been lengthened by 140mm at the rear, meaning it now has a 405-litre boot.
The added length also sees the Eclipse Cross move out of the small SUV sales class it occupied previously.
In the cabin, an 8.0-inch touchscreen – compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – now comes standard.
A wide range of driver assist technologies also feature across the range.
The entry level front-wheel drive ES variant gets a rear-view camera, 18-inch alloys, climate control, Forward Collision Mitigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, four-speaker audio, LED daytime running lights, hill start assist, and cruise control.
Meanwhile, the next model up – the LS – picks up an electric park brake, fog lights, keyless entry and push-button start, rear parking sensors, Lane Departure Warning, two extra speakers, and a black leather steering wheel.
The Aspire model adds a micro-suede seat trim, electric driver’s seat, heated front seats, 8 speaker/4 tweeter sound system, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
The flagship Exceed variant also has LED headlamps, a double sunroof, heated steering wheel, Leather seat trim, the ultrasonic mis-acceleration mitigation system, inbuilt TomTom navigation, and head-up display.
With no major structural changes involved in the facelift, the new Eclipse Cross retains its 5-star ANCAP rating.
While the body is longer than before, the wheelbase remains the same (at 2670mm) with the additional space eked out of a reconfigured cabin.
A 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine remains standard on all models, with unchanged 110kW and 250Nm outputs, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
Pricing has increased across the range, with the ES variant starting from $30,290 (it was previously $29,990).
Meanwhile, the Exceed model starts from $40,790 (it was previously $39,490).
White is the only no-cost colour option, and a metallic and pearlescent range is priced at $740.
“Prestige” colours – comprising red and white diamond – will set you back $940.
Australian deliveries are slated to begin in December of this year, before the car touches down for the US and Japanese markets.
