2020 Ford Escape launches virtual test drive program
The all-new 2020 Ford Escape – which is set to arrive in Australian showrooms next month – will be available for virtual 'test drives'.
Ford has also introduced drive-away pricing deals ahead of the model's launch.
With many local businesses still operating under COVID-19 restrictions, creative solutions have been necessary to keep customers safe.
A spokesperson for Ford Australia told CarAdvice the 'Desk Drive' initiative was initially trialled with the launch of the smaller Puma SUV in September, and continued for Escape following initial success.
The program will operate on Facebook Live events and on the Ford Australia Facebook page, however, customers who do choose to test drive the car in-person will receive a discount of $500.
The new Escape will feature the SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone compatibility as standard on all models.
The local line-up comprises three badging variants, with these being the entry level car, the sports-focussed ‘Escape ST-Line,' and the flagship 'Escape Vignale.'
Escape ST-Line models are available in front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
The Ford Escape comes with a five-year unlimited kilometre factory warranty, and is set to arrive in local showrooms mid-November 2020.
Introductory drive-away pricing deals have been offered on the entry-level Escape and two of the ST-Line variants.
