2020-2023 Ram 2500 and 3500 recalled in Australia

The Australian importer and right-hand-drive converter of Ram Trucks has announced a recall of almost 1400 Ram 2500 and 3500 pick-ups, owing to a transmission defect which could lead to a vehicle fire.

The factory-backed company responsible for importing and converting Ram Trucks to right-hand drive in Australia has recalled 1361 examples of the Ram 2500 and 3500, due to a manufacturing defect which could lead to a transmission fluid leak and vehicle fire.

The recall affects examples of the 2500 and 3500 pick-ups sold by Ram in Australia between 2020 and 2023.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to a manufacturing defect, the transmission may experience a build-up of pressure and heat causing transmission fluid to leak. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

"A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property."
