2019 BMW M8 roars around the Nurburgring – video
Upcoming performance flagship shows off brassy exhaust note.
The BMW 8 Series has already been revealed, but the high-performance M8 remains under (partial) wraps at this stage.
So far we know it'll feature a twin-turbo V8, and a rear-biased M xDrive all-wheel drive system, but as far as the final design touches and model-specific equipment it gets over the 'standard' 8 Series? We're none the wiser.
We reckon the M8 will feature a version of the 4.4-litre bi-turbo bent-eight used in the M5 sedan, likely putting out around the same 460kW and 750Nm as the M5 Competition.
Coupled with the enhanced grip of the all-wheel drive system, our guess is that the M8 will be capable of sprinting from 0-100 in a smidgen over 3.0 seconds, and hit a top speed in excess of 300km/h when specified with the M Driver's Package – which removes the 250km/h electric speed limiter.
Here, we can see a camouflaged M8 prototype blasting around the famed Nurburgring circuit in Germany – in a new video posted by Automotive Mike on YouTube.
Check out the clip below, and let us know what you think of the exhaust note:
