2018 Lexus LX450d pricing and specs
Diesel luxury off-roader finally confirmed from $134,500
The 2018 Lexus LX450d has been priced and specified for Australia, starting at $134,500 before on-road costs.
It's the first time the Japanese luxury off-roader has been offered Down Under in diesel form, utilising the 4.5-litre V8 twin-turbo diesel from the related Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series.
Outputs for the new engine are rated at 200kW (at 3600rpm) and 650Nm (from 1600-2800rpm), while fuel use is claimed to be just 9.5L/100km on the combined cycle – that compares to the 5.7-litre V8's 14.4L/100km claim. A six-speed automatic transmission sends drive to a full-time all-wheel drive system.
The LX450d also matches its LX570 sibling's 3.5-tonne towing capacity, though only offers a five-seat cabin layout compared to the V8 petrol's eight.
Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, tyre-pressure monitoring, LED headlights with LED daytime-running lights, sequential indicators, surround camera system, adaptive variable suspension, leather-accented interior, and four-zone climate control.
There's also a 12.3-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, a nine-speaker audio system, DAB+ radio, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, rear-door sunshades, and a wood-trimmed steering wheel with paddle shifters.
In terms of safety tech, the LX450d comes as standard with Lexus Safety System +, meaning adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, adaptive high-beam, and autonomous emergency braking are all included, along with a head-up display, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. There are 10 airbags throughout the cabin, too.
The Lexus LX450d is available to order now.
