2015-2016 Volkswagen Passat recalled over sunroof issue
Volkswagen has recalled around 700 of its Passat wagons built between 2015 and 2016 over concerns that the sunroof may close on obstructing objects when operated via the remote key.
The German carmaker reports that the specified limits of the sunroof’s roll-back function could be exceeded when closed remotely.
This means that when operating the sunroof using the remote key, it may not recognise anything obstructing its path when closing, which could in turn cause an injury if someone has an arm caught in the sunroof while it closes, and it can also lead to damaging the sunroof itself.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail.
Customers wanting more information on the recall are able to contact their local Volkswagen service centre of contact Volkswagen’s customer care line on 1800 504 076.
