The wagon version of Volkswagen's new seventh-generation Golf has appeared online ahead of its public debut at this week’s Geneva Motor Show.
Like the current Golf Wagon variant, the new model matches its hatch counterpart from the B-pillar forward, and gains a wagon-defining 307mm rear overhang extension and deeper tailgate.
The new model also features wagon-specific taillights, and the rear end styling as a whole is more cohesively 'Golf' than the current wagon’s blocky detailing.
Volkswagen’s designers have also more boldly referenced the Golf’s classic C-pillar kick with the new wagon’s D-pillar design.
Driveline options are set to mirror the hatch version’s myriad of diesel and petrol, manual and DSG drivetrains, but specific details will have to wait until the official unveiling this week.
After its Geneva public debut, the Mk7 Golf wagon is set to go on sale in Europe from September.
