2014 Lexus CT 200h Facelift Surfaces

UPDATE: On further investigation, it appears likely this image is a doctored photo that merges elements from other Lexus models onto the CT hatch.

An image purporting to be the coming Lexus CT 200h update has surfaced online today, just days after the carmaker's local boss told TMR of its coming.

Shown on the cover of a purloined brochure, the updated CT has been given the latest Lexus design elements, smartening-up the small hybrid hatch's styling.

As one of the first models to showcase an early evolution of the brand's new 'spindle' grille design, it is fitting that the CT has now been given the full treatment. 

That new spindle grille design is now featured across the Lexus range, from the new IS, GS and ES sedans, through to the brand's updated SUV range and the big LS limo.

The updated CT hatch is shown here in F Sport guise, giving it the more aggressive mesh-filled version of the new grille, along with the familiar 'L' LED running lights, a sports-styled bumper and larger alloy wheels. 

It is known that the bulk of the CT's styling updates are at the front end, although the rear will also get updated bumper designs for the regular and F Sport models. 

Enhancements in the cabin are also likely, with new trim options and new technologies. 

We can likely expect the CT to continue exclusively with its small petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, meaning there will be no turbocharged petrol flagship to take on this generation's hot hatches.

Watch for the updated CT 200h to make its global premiere late this year, before going on sale around the middle of 2014 - likely with a new, lower starting price to combat the Europeans.
