Porsche's next 911 GT3 has been spied testing again in Europe, and new reports suggest the naturally-aspirated 991 range's performance flagship will debut in March.
According to Britain's Autocar magazine, Porsche insiders have confirmed a Geneva Motor Show debut for the new hero.
Painted black and wearing scarcely any camouflage, the prototype spied here carries a number of uniquely-GT3 styling cues. Spotted alongside its predecessor, the differences are clear.
Chief among these is the nose vent mounted just ahead of the bonnet's leading edge, which, along with the enlarged cheek vents, helps provide more airflow to the various heat exchangers mounted in the GT3's snout.
At the rear there's a pair of centrally-mounted exhaust tips, just like the current GT3.
The aluminium scaffolding that supports the current GT3's rear wing appear to have been ditched, however. In their place is a more conventional looking wing that sits above a fixed 'whaletail' spoiler atop the 911's engine cover.
Previous spy photos of a cammed-up GT3 prototype showed this wing in an extended position, so it appears Porsche will take a more high-tech approach with the 991 GT3's aerodynamic aids.
