2013-2015 Nissan Murano recall for steering fix
Nissan has issued a recall for 426 of its Murano SUVs built between November 2013 and February 2015 over concerns the power steering hose could leak, resulting in a loss of steering assistance.
The Japanese manufacturer reports the power steering high pressure hose could detach over trim due to incorrect clamp fittings, which in turn could cause the power steering fluid to leak.
If the condition occurs, it would lead to a gradual loss of power steering assistance. Additionally, if the fluid leaks onto a heat source, it poses a fire risk.
Affected Murano SUVs were produced from November 2013 through February 2015, with the affected VIN range being JN1TANZ51A0025546 to JN1TANZ51A0026011.
Once parts availability is confirmed, owners of the affected vehicles are advised to contact their Nissan dealer to arrange for the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
