With development of the next-generation C-Class, the upcoming C-Class Coupe and C-Class facelift clearly well-advanced, new spy photos this week reveal that Mercedes Benz may have a Black Series version of the C 63 AMG also on the drawing board.
Apart from the flared guards and wider track, there is little to separate this test car visually from the regular C 63 AMG, although a unique Black Series bodykit will likely feature on the production model.
While only speculation at this stage, power for the C 63 AMG Black Series will reportedly be provided by AMG's new 5.5 litre V8, producing 400kW and 800Nm of torque - well beyond the 336kW and 600Nm of the 6.2 litre V8-powered C 63 AMG.
Other tweaks setting the Black Series apart will undoubtedly include revised suspension, a limited-slip differential and carbon-ceramic brakes.
While these photos depict the Black Series in sedan form, reports from Europe have suggested that only the upcoming C-Class Coupe will be available with the enhanced performance of the Black Series package.
