General Motors has unveiled a new crew-cab concept in its lead-up to the unveiling of the 2012 Holden Colorado, shown here in Chevrolet concept form.
Dubbed the Double-Cab Rally concept, this latest iteration of the new Colorado follows the Bangkok Auto Show unveiling of the 2012 Colorado Space Cab concept in March.
In concept form, the Colorado Double-Cab Rally features a winch and exposed tow-hook system at the front and rear, along with a unique rollbar and rail system across the roof and along the walls of the tub.
The tailgate features two wide-open holes for shedding sand and gravel that would otherwise collect in the tub while racing; to reduce weight, side windows are clear acrylic.
The Double-Cab Rally concept also features adjustable suspension that can increase ride height by 125mm.
Power is provided by the same 2.8 litre turbodiesel utilised in the earlier 2012 Colorado concept, although power figures remain a secret.
Exact dates for the new Colorado's production launch remain unclear, although GM promises an unveiling later this year.
