2009 Hyundai i20 at MIMS
As part of a raft of reveals and new product Korean car-maker Hyundai will also show its new light car entrant the 120 at the Melbourne international Motor Show later this month.
Hyundai announced late yesterday that the new i20 small hatch would make its Australian debut at the 2009 Melbourne show, joining the Genesis coupe and the i30 Cross Wagon.
Set to go on sale in the 3rd quarter of this year, the i20 will offer customers premium features and technology now appearing on many larger more expensive models.
The i20 is slightly smaller than the multi-award winning i30 range, and like the i30, the i20 is part of Hyundai’s next generation of vehicles identified by the ‘i’ prefix.
Hyundai says a long wheelbase gives the i20 an athletic stance and allowed the design team to develop a spacious interior package. The i20 carries through the ‘i’ series front grille, incorporating a bold chrome-topped grille flanked by teardrop headlamps.
Designed by Hyundai’s European design studio in Russelsheim, Germany, and Hyundai says the i20 will suit people looking for a sophisticated fuel efficient compact hatch to get around the busy cities of Australia
