There is a new Top Gear test track champion, unofficially at least, with the Caparo T1 road registerable completely insane race car breaking through the fastest time by an astonishing seven seconds to post a 1 min 10.6 second lap. The previous record is held by the Koenigsegg CCX.
The Caparo weighs less than a Formula One car, has double the power to weight ratio of the Bugatti Veyron and is able to sprint from 0-100kmh in just 2.5 seconds. Its aero body work endows the Caparo with the ability to generate up to 3g of lateral force.
