In a first for BMW Australia the four-door sedan version of the V8 M3 will be heading downunder, with a limited supply expected in time for Christmas this year.

BMW has noted, that in spite of rising prices at the pump, Australia’s love affair with V8 performance cars continues seemingly unabated, paving the way for the addition of the BMW V8 M3 to the M3 range - currently being spearheaded by the highly successful M3 Coupé and soon to be released M3 Convertible.

Have you ever yearned for a car built from fabric that can change shape at the touch of a button? Me neither, but oddly BMW didn’t seek my permission before building their GINA Light Visionary Model concept car, a concept vehicle skinned in fabric that has the ability to change its outward appearance.

Last week TMR showed you a glimpse of this mystery concept as it was being unloaded at the BMW Museum in Munich. The pot was further stirred by a talented CGI artist from Spain who took an E92 M3 coupe and with a chop here and blend there, created what for all the world could have been a production M1 - but it wasn’t.

Well M1 fans, there is yet another piece of news concerning a future BMW supercar. Italian BMW tuner Racing Dynamics has via their website unwittingly confirmed BMW’s plan to build an M1 successor.

The above image appeared on their website along with the following description:

Yesterday came the news that GM Holden will be exploring a number of different fuels and technologies in the race to bring more efficient and environmentally friendly versions of their Commodore family car to the market around 2010.

It is the same story for manufacturers around the world and to ease our minds and ensure us that they are inately green, BMW has put together quite an interesting commercial highlighting the ‘green’ engineering that will be coming soon to a BMW near you.
