Audi R8 all-LED headlight cluster

Not too long ago, the only car that had LEDs on its nose was the Knight Industries Two Thousand from that most 80s of television shows, Knight Rider. Audi S5 by MTM - TMR

German tuning house Motoren Technik Mayer (or MTM) have turned up the wick on Audi’s S5 Coupe by adding a supercharger to the standard car’s 4.2-litre V8. The end result? Think 42% more power and a 24% increase in torque. That’s right, this baby’s got over 500 tyre-smokin’ horses under that bonnet.

It’s difficult to believe that anyone would think the twin-turbocharged V10 Audi RS6 would need anymore power but it looks to be on the cards. Audi are not averse to tinkering with their RS line-up and the previous generation RS6 came in for some fettling during its dying days with the introduction of an RS6 ‘Plus’. The plus equated to an increase in power from 335kW/450hp to 358kW/480hp – not bad.

But it gets better with the current generation RS6. According to AutoTelegraaf, an Audi snitch has confirmed that Audi look set to bump the power up for another ‘Plus’ version. Already sporting a massive 432kW/580hp in standard tune, the ‘Plus’ will likely come packing 457kW/613hp worth of heat. Surely that has to be enough?
