There’s nothing quite like seeing the look on a loved one’s face when you see them unwrap the Christmas presents you have given to them.

Whether it’s the latest video game, toys or in my case a new Hyundai Kona (hint, hint family) there’s always an abundance of gift ideas from various companies that can make each holiday feel special.

While there are plenty of automotive-themed options for all budgets that are generally obtainable by the vast majority of the population, there are some holiday items priced at such exorbitant amounts, they are accessible to only a very tiny percentage of the population.

Here at Drive, we can't possibly justify spending money equivalent of a mortgage and/or a few months rent, or the equivalent of a Porsche 911, a real one that is, on non-practical things, especially in this current economic climate. But that hasn't stopped some high-end luxury brands from presenting a range of ludicrously expensive, ridiculous items in time for the festive season.

So if you're a car enthusiast like us, or someone just looking to have your mind blown with the absurdity of these automotive-related Christmas gifts, then you've come to the right place.

Here's a look at some of the most eye-watering items on offer during the 2023 holiday period (vehicle not included).

Golf aficionados looking to add a bit of luxury to their swing next time they hit the course, could consider Bentley’s collection of golf equipment currently listed on its website valued at over $AU6000 combined.

The Bentley Golf Techline Cart and Stand Bag, as well as the Golf Techline Driver, are the most extravagant with a retail price of £750 ($AU1437) each respectively – while the Golf Techline putter is advertised with a £600 ($AU1150) price tag.

Those looking for Bentley golf clubs might have to wait, as the three-piece wedge set advertised for £1000 ($AU1916) is currently sold out.

The ‘cheapest’ offerings this holiday season when it comes to Bentley’s golf accessories are the £200 ($AU383) Techline Bag and the £375 ($AU718) Techline Holdall.

Bentley enthusiasts not into golf shouldn't feel left out, with more luxurious gift ideas at different price points available on the British luxury carmaker's website.

Formula One fans wanting a piece of history from arguably the sport’s most prominent figure, Michael Schumacher, are out of luck – as this bracelet made from the tyre used in one of his races is currently sold out.

However, the €9600 ($AU15,789) price tag isn’t solely reliant on the history associated with the piece.

Courtesy of luxury jewellery makers Mongrip, the bracelet dubbed ‘MZ96’ is made from 950 Platinum and features seven diamonds symbolising the seven world championships Schumacher won during his tenure in the sport – as well as a strip of tyre rubber from the Ferrari F310B used by Schumacher in the 1996 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

The clasp is also engraved with a dragon emblem which was regularly seen in the motorsport racer’s helmet and the bracelet is advertised with a weight of 30 grams.

According to Mongrip, “part of the revenue obtained from this product is used to support the charitable work of the Keep Fighting Foundation.”

Bugatti’s yearly holiday gift list is generally viewed by some as the epitome of luxury – a collection of Bugatti-inspired items ranging from affordable toys all the way to extravagant limited-edition pieces.

This year, the luxury carmaker has opted for some jaw-dropping pieces (along with the prices) for this year’s holiday gift list.

The Asprey Bugatti Egg was developed in collaboration with the London-based art gallery, Asprey Studios, and is inspired by some of Bugatti’s illustrious history.

Priced anywhere from $US20,000 ($AU30,566) to $US200,000 ($AU305,663) according to US publication Car Buzz – the luxury piece is inspired by Carlo Bugatti’s philosophy of “the purest perfect shape of nature is an egg.”

The egg itself is made from carbon-fibre while a sterling silver diamond weave lattice intricately wraps the egg.  

It also features a “Dancing Elephant” motif – a direct reference to Rembrandt Bugatti’s sculpture on the Bugatti Type 41 Royale.

Bugatti has dipped its lux toes into the digital realm with this collection – each egg is allegedly “linked to a generative art NFT inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain, representing a novel intersection of art and technology.”

If a $300,000 egg doesn’t seem practical, how about a $US380,000 ($AU582,072) watch courtesy of Bugatti in collaboration with luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co?

Dubbed the ‘Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Rose Gold by Jacob & Co’, this timepiece is inspired by Bugatti’s 16-cylinder engine.

According to the luxury carmaker, “When the right-hand crown is pushed, the crankshaft turns and the 16 pistons pump up and down, accompanied by spinning turbochargers, mimicking a real engine.”

The movement of the watch is suspended inside, mirroring the Chiron's shock absorbers – while the case is inspired by the Chiron's "fluid lines" – the case is 18 karat Rose Gold and can be customised to feature white and/or black diamonds.
