Mitsubishi has announced a recall for its ASX small SUV – the company’s best-selling SUV and Australia’s second most popular SUV last year.

The recall is for a faulty front windshield wiper motor that involves vehicles built in 2011 and 2012 which are model year ‘XA’ derivatives and those built in 2013 and 2014 that ‘XB’ derivatives.

The problem is the design of the front deck which may allow water to run into the wiper motor. This can then cause rust which means the motor could seize and the wipers will not work.
