Swedish manufacturer Volvo won't launch a fastbacked SUV of its own until it achieves its sales aspirations of 800,000 vehicles per year - even though all of its German rivals either already have, or are preparing ones of their own.
Since its launch in 2007 the BMW X6 has achieved a surprising degree of success, with its chopped roofline and tapered turret appealing to buyers who want SUV features combined with a sporty silhouette.
The X6 has been so successful, in fact, that Mercedes-Benz has this year thrown its hat into the ring with the GLE Coupe (below). Audi, meanwhile, is prepping the Q8 fastback SUV.
Volvo, however, won't be joining them.
