Volkswagen’s apprentice team has unveiled two Golf-based concepts for the 2015 Woerthersee Treffen event in Austria.

The first is the Golf GTI Dark Shine; so called because of its two-tone paint finish than combines Daytona Grey Metallic (dark) at the front with a new yellow shade at the rear (shine).

Yellow racing strips continue the theme, stretching along the bonnet and roof, as does the dark grey alloy wheels and yellow brake calliper package.

Inside, the Dark Shine gets Recaro seats in - you guessed it - grey and yellow trim, along with a grey dash, steering wheel and instrument cluster with yellow highlights.

There’s also an eight-speaker sound system with three subwoofers that makes for a 3500 Watt output.

Under the bonnet is a turbocharged 2.0 litre TSI petrol engine with a stainless-steel exhaust producing 291kW and 487Nm, matched with a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
