Toyota has covered its bases at this week's Beijing Auto Show, revealing three new concepts in the hatch, sedan and four-door coupe categories.

The hatch and sedan twins are known as the Dear Qin (meaning "intimate"), a name chosen to represent "the wish for these models to become cherished by many".

Debuting alongside the small Dear Qin cars is the Yundong Shuangqing four-door coupe.

Toyota says "yundong" means "movement upon clouds", the carmaker's corporate slogan in the Chinese market.

"Shuangqing" translates to "dual support," a term used to describe the concept's petrol-electric hybrid system.

"We would like to put smiles on the faces of our Chinese customers with hybrid technology. I want the people of China to be able to experience the beauty of hybrid technology through a hybrid car born in China," Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said.

The carmaker added that while the Dear Qin cars preview future styling characteristics for its global line-up, the Yundong Shuangqing is a China-only concept, its hybrid system developed at the Carmaker's facility in Changshu.

Technical details for the concepts have not been revealed.
