Toyota's European motorsports arm, TMG, has revealed its CS-R3 rally version of the Toyota 86, which will make its public debut on August 21 as the 'zero' car at the ADAC Rallye Deustchland.

And it won't be a one-off; TMG is planning to sell the CS-R3 parts as a kit for rally teams on a budget.

Critics of the Toyota 86's relative lack of power will be happy to know that the CS-R3 package boosts power from the stock 147kW to as much as 186kW through the use of higher-lift cams, higher compression pistons, a free-flowing exhaust and a retuned ECU.

The differential ratio is lower to aid acceleration, there's also a customisable mechanical LSD, and a six-speed sequential shifter to speed-up gearchanges. TMG has also managed to pare the 86's kerb weight down to 1080kg - a reduction of 177kg.
