Nissan’s Qashqai SUV arrived in Australia this week, priced from $25,850 plus on-road costs.

Four trim grades, two engine options (one petrol, one diesel) six-speed manual and CVT automatic transmissions are available, but the all-wheel-drive option from the outgoing Dualis has not been carried over.

The Qashqai recently earned a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, but not before it was criticised by the Program for lacking standard autonomous emergency braking.

Pricing for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class range in Australia has been confirmed, ahead of a local debut in the coming months.

The range kicks off at $60,900 plus on-roads for the entry C 200 petrol model and $62,400 for its diesel C 200 Bluetec sibling, rising to $74,900 for the C 300 Bluetec Hybrid.

The new C-Class gets nine airbags, a fatigue-detection system, Benz’s Driver Assistance Package and a 100kg weight reduction over the outgoing model.
