The 2014 Nissan X-Trail arrived in Australia this week, priced from $27,990 plus on-roads for the 2.0 litre manual 2WD.

X-Trail is an all-petrol affair for now, with a choice of 2.0 litre or 2.5 litre four-cylinder engines. The diesel will not arrive until later in the year.

A six-speed manual is available only in the entry-level ST 2WD, while all other models get a 'seven-step' CVT automatic.

The VFACTS new car sales for March are in, with the Toyota Corolla regaining the top spot from the Mazda3, the latter topping the sales sheets in February.

Toyota is still way out in front for overall sales, selling just 779 fewer cars than second-placed Holden and third-placed Mazda combined.

That said, it was a good month for Holden, with the VF Commodore in particular proving popular as it slotted into fourth place behind the Toyota HiLux.
